Mount Currie Rodeo

Rodeo RiderEach May long weekend the Mount Currie Lil'wat Lions Club host the Lillooet Lake Rodeo at the Mt Currie Rodeo Grounds.

The events are a First Nations' pow wow held in conjunction with the rodeo designed to attract tours and bring the local community together.

Several events center around kids on the first day. The "real" rodeo action runs Sunday through Monday with events such as bull riding, calf roping and saddle bronc.

Singing and dancing competitions are also hosted throughout the weekend. Pow wows that usually run during the rodeo offer dance competitions for traditional dance, fancy dance, and other novelty dances.

First nations' drummer is typically featured as well as a Miss Lillooet First Nations' beauty pageant.
