Pemberton Valley including Area C
The Pemberton Valley includes the Village of Pemberton and Electoral Area C of the Squamish - Lillooet District and the Mount Currie community. Area C includes the communities from Mount Currie to Birken and D'Arcy. Also included is the Pemberton Meadows area to the northwest of Pemberton.
Clean & Pristine Mountain Environment
Pemberton is surrounded by majestic mountains, endless fields, forest, lakes and rivers that leave visitors of our area in awe. Three Provincial Parks are bordering the Valley: Joffre, Nairn Falls and Garibaldi Provincial Park.
A Fast Growing, Progressive Community
As the fastest growing community in BC (BC Statistics, 2005) the Village of Pemberton has seen many changes in a short period of time. Agriculture and forestry are still important aspects of the local economy, but tourism and its related services employ the highest percentage of residents: accommodation and food services at 24.3%, followed by arts, entertainment and recreation at 13.3%, and retail trade, also representing 13.3% of the total labor force (2001 Census). Comparatively, forestry and logging employs 1.8% of Village residents. The Village encompasses an area of approximately six (6) square kilometers.
Built on Solid Roots
Historically, farming including agriculture and food production have been mainstays of the Pemberton Valley. The rapid development of Whistler Resort since the mid 1980s has had a large influence on Pemberton as it brought to the Valley tourists, residents, and opportunities. The recent trend of agritourism is one of the examples of how Pemberton has adapted to changes by building on its historical roots. Agriculture has always been and will continue to be an important aspect of the Pemberton Valley.
A 2010 Games Player
Due to the proximity to Whistler, Pemberton is also a key player during the 2010 Winter Olympics and Paralympics. A lot of residential as well as commercial developments are on the way and will provide the community with more amenities and opportunities.

Pemberton Valley is a mecca for outdoor recreation. The Valley hosts two golf courses, an airport, over a 100 trails and is truly YOUR GATEWAY TO ADVENTURE. If you love outdoor adventure and the backcountry then you'll love Pemberton and District. Our airport offers plane, soaring, and helicopter access.
Pemberton is a very family oriented and active community. Local sports include soccer, baseball, dragon boating, equestrian and basketball.
